My name is Candace Laury and I am the creator of Satinsakks. The very first time I had my hair braided in to the style you see here is what inspired me to create Satinsakks. Today, hair has become an art form. Our hair is an extension of our personality. It allows us to express our individuality our creativity.
Because of this we are willing to go to great lengths to achieve the style we desire. If you are like me, the way you choose to wear your hair is not a process to be taken lightly. When I made the decision to have my hair braided I, like most people, did my research. I found out what style would be perfect for me, and who and where I needed go to have it done. When my research was complete I was willing to travel 4 hours from my home, sit in a chair for 16 hours, endure excruciating pain, and spend a small fortune. But, when it was all said and done…I loved my hair. My hair was beautiful and I wanted to keep it that way. When I returned home, I was on a mission to find the perfect hair garment that would keep my braids looking neat. I bought every hair bonnet, scarf, and wrap that was in the beauty supply store. I tried them all. Unfortunately none of them worked. They all seemed to be made of the same nylon material and wouldn’t even stay on my hair at night. Everything I had gone through to have my hair done was all in vain. Within a couple of weeks my beautiful style was a frizzy, unattractive mess.
Out of my frustration, I decided to make what I needed. Since I am a licensed cosmetologist, who specializes in healthy hair, I knew exactly what I needed and wanted in a hair garmet. Most of you have heard that sleeping on a satin pillowcase is the best thing you can do for your hair. So I knew that my hair garmet had to be made of satin. It had to completely cover my hair from root to tip, and it had to be comfortable. I sat down with a seamstress and my ideas developed into what I know call Satinsakks.
It was ten years ago that I created Satinsakks, and I’ve been using them ever since. Satinsakks will save you time and money by preserving your hair between salon visits. Satinsakks are for busy parents who don’t have time to keep having their children’s hair redone. Satinsakks are for busy women and men who don’t have lot of time to spend in the salon.
Over the years, people have asked me why my braids always look so neat no matter how long I’ve had them in. I use to just smile and say “it’s a secret.” Now I can finally share my secret with you…..Satinsakks
